Mastodont Red Zone – Braided Wels Leader Material (1.0 mm / 150 kg / 10 m) by Dalke Fishing
Uncompromising power for the ultimate opponent: The 8-fold braided high-performance wels leader for extreme conditions.
When the fish of a lifetime takes the bait, the quality of the final few meters determines victory or defeat. The Mastodont Red Zone wels leader material by Dalke Fishing was specially developed for uncompromising trophy wels fishing. Made from 100% pure UHMWPE fibers (known worldwide by the brand name Dyneema®), this leader offers maximum breaking strength combined with extremely high abrasion resistance – even when in hard contact with mussel beds, deadwood, rock piles and the brush-like tooth plates of trophy wels.
Why the Mastodont Red Zone leader makes the difference on the water
No tangles in the current (anti-tangle effect) Thanks to the targeted stiffness of the tight 8-fold braid, the leader stands cleanly in the water. It reliably prevents your rig or baitfish from wrapping around the main line in strong currents, tangling or knotting.
Visible red – full control during the fight and landing Wels orient themselves using their lateral line, barbels and sense of smell – the red color is completely insignificant to the nearly colorblind predator underwater and has no spooking effect. For you as a wels angler, however, the bold red offers a decisive advantage: When landing at night in the beam of a headlamp, you can immediately see the line path, safely reach into the leader, and see at a glance how the hooks are seated in the wels' mouth.
100% UHMWPE (Dyneema® quality) for extreme loads The dense 8-fold braid absorbs no water, does not fray, and retains its enormous breaking strength of 150 kg as well as its high knot strength even under intense continuous load.
Applications & fishing methods
Thanks to the ideal balance of stiffness, a 1.0 mm diameter and 150 kg breaking strength, the Mastodont Red Zone is a reliable all-rounder for almost every modern wels rig.
Bottom fishing with the underwater float (Subfloat) The stiffness of the material keeps the bait at the perfect distance from the underwater float and prevents annoying flipping over when casting or deploying in strong river currents.
Freestyle & buoy rigs When tying off to trees, bushes or buoys, the material offers exactly the abrasion resistance you need when a hooked trophy wels pulls directly into obstacles, over sharp edges or through dense weed beds after striking.
Vertical fishing, Clonk & hair rigs Perfectly suited for tying rigid, tangle-free systems with single hooks and drilling rigs – whether for baitfish, worm bundles or fishing with pellets on a hair rig.
